- And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
- But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
- God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
- I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
- For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
- Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
- So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.
- Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him. - But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
- O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. - For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
- I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors,
for you have given me wisdom and strength.
You have told me what we asked of you
and revealed to us what the king demanded. - No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- Instead, let us test and examine our ways.
Let us turn back to the Lord. - For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
- And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
- For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.
- I praise God for what he has promised.
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me? - God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him. - God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
- For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
- Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.
- You light a lamp for me.
The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
