- We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.
- The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger:
but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. - Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,
and obtaineth favour of the Lord. - For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
- Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
- O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord:
my goodness extendeth not to thee. - For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
- Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
- Withhold not good from them to whom it is due,
when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. - For he satisfieth the longing soul,
and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. - Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
- For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive;
and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. - And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
- I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
- For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
- Seek good, and not evil,
that ye may live:
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you,
as ye have spoken. - A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favour rather than silver and gold. - And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
- And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
- Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
- Teach me to do thy will;
for thou art my God:
thy spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness. - Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
- He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
