Bible Verses about 'Goodness'
- I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long. - For the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true.
- O how abundant is your goodness
that you have laid up for those who fear you,
and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,

for your goodness' sake, O Lord! - For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.
- He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. - His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- For he satisfies the thirsty,
and the hungry he fills with good things. - And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
- So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- The Lord is just in all his ways,
and kind in all his doings. - Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.
- “All things are lawful,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
- And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
- No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
- Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. - For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens;
your faithfulness extends to the clouds. - What is desirable in a person is loyalty,
and it is better to be poor than a liar. - Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
- Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
- Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it. - Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.
- By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. - Thus says the Lord:
Stand at the crossroads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way lies; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.
But they said, “We will not walk in it.” - Do not be deceived:
“Bad company ruins good morals.” - Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path. - You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand has supported me;
your help has made me great.
You gave me a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip. - The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.
- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.
- Also that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing, not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God.
- Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
- With the loyal you show yourself loyal;
with the blameless you show yourself blameless. - Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin.
