- Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. - For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
- As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. - Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’
- If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
- Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
- Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. - But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.
- When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.
- And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
- You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you.
- Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
- For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
- For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
- The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
- Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
- So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
