- He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
- But he knows where I am going.
And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
For I have stayed on God’s paths;
I have followed his ways and not turned aside. - Direct your children onto the right path,
and when they are older, they will not leave it. - And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
- The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. - May he grant your heart’s desires
and make all your plans succeed. - Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
- Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. - He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”
- For the Lord delights in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory. - The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights. - So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.
- We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.
- You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He protects the lives of his godly people
and rescues them from the power of the wicked. - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever. - If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
- But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
and he will stand upon the earth at last. - And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
- He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west. - Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
- Every word of God proves true.
He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. - When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!
- Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
