- And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.
- And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
- Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.
- The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth,
and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart;
and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. - He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
- Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
- The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke. - I love the Lord, because he hath heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,
therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
- So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
- I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
- And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
- So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. - He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer shall be abomination. - Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
- But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
- Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings;
and the years of thy life shall be many. - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:
but the Lord pondereth the hearts. - Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
my God will hear me. - Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.
- And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord,
give ear to my supplications:
in thy faithfulness answer me,
and in thy righteousness. - My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
