Bible Verses about 'Helping the poor'

the Maker of heaven and earth. - If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up. - Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.
- So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

an ever-present help in trouble. - Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless. - For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

The commands of the Lord are radiant,

the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous. - Help us, God our Savior,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us and forgive our sins
for your name’s sake. - The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. - For I am the Lord your God

Surely the people’s joy
is withered away. - Blessings crown the head of the righteous,
but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
