    If anyone does love the world,
    the love of the Father is not in him.
  • And opens the eyes of those who cannot see.
    The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
    the Lord loves the righteous.
  • In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and barren, and darkness covered the abyss while the Spirit of God hovered over the waters.
  • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
    and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

  • Now this Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
  • I am the good shepherd.
    The good shepherd
    lays down his life for the sheep.
  • The lips of the righteous utter words of kindness,
    but the mouth of the wicked knows only how to pervert.
  • The light shines in the darkness,
    and the darkness has been unable to overcome it.
  • I came from the Father
    and have come into the world.
    Now I am leaving the world
    and returning to the Father.
