| But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. | Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. |
| Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. | Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. |

| But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. | Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. |
| Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. |
| The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. | The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. |
| For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. | For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. |
| The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. | Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. |
