- For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
- The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power,
and will not at all acquit the wicked:
the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm,
and the clouds are the dust of his feet. - He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
- For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people:
he will beautify the meek with salvation. - The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open unto their cry. - Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
and his greatness is unsearchable. - For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. - An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
- O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good;
for his mercy endureth for ever. - A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. - If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
- In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
- Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews.
- He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul;
but he that despiseth his ways shall die. - And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- He keepeth the paths of judgment,
and preserveth the way of his saints. - He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot hath held his steps,
his way have I kept, and not declined. - Like as a father pitieth his children,
so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him,
upon them that hope in his mercy. - Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever. - According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever.
