In the morning, Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will present my prayer to You and be on the watch. | Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. |
But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. | Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes. |

Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. | Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. |
Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful. | And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. |
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! | Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! |
For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or like a watch in the night. | For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours. |
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. | But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. |
Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be firm, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. | So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. |
And I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them. | I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them. |
I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. | Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. |
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. | And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. |
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. | My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. |
Hear my prayer, Lord, Listen to my pleadings! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! | Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. |
For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” | For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” |
Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning, For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. | Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. |
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. | Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. |
God is our refuge and strength, A very ready help in trouble. | God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. |
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. | Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. |
Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. | And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. |
But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him? | If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? |
And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. | That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. |
All that you do must be done in love. | And do everything with love. |
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. | Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. |
These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. | I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. |
Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. | So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. |
