It (4/4)

  • Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
  • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
  • And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
  • For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
  • And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
  • A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
  • But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
  • Wealth gained hastily will dwindle,
but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
  • Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
  • Pray then like this:
    “Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.”
  • Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.
  • What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
  • For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night.
  • For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
  • For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.
  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
  • And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
  • Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
  • And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
  • For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
  • Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.
  • Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
  • Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
  • But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
  • In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
