Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. Proverbs 12:25	Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. speaking worrying heart
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7	Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. reward seeking receiving

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” Romans 1:17	For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” faith righteousness salvation
But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost. Proverbs 20:25	It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows. holiness righteousness

No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. Hebrews 12:11	Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. righteousness peace children
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. Genesis 50:20	But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. God life evil
Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back. Proverbs 29:11	A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back. anger wisdom self-control
I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. Genesis 9:13	I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. covenant promises
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6	Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. righteousness family children
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! John 15:7	If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. reward Jesus Word of God
All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 1 Corinthians 9:25	And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. self-control reward eternal life
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” Genesis 2:18	And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” creation marriage relationships
No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:15-16	Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:27	But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. self-control judgment body
But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. Romans 8:25	But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. trust hope patience
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8	This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. law obedience blessing

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
