Judgment (2/2)

  • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
    and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
  • Therefore do not let anyone condemn you in matters of food and drink or of observing festivals, new moons, or sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
  • The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
  • Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.
  • There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor?
  • The Rock, his work is perfect,
    and all his ways are just.
    A faithful God, without deceit,
    just and upright is he.
  • For the Lord loves justice;
    he will not forsake his faithful ones.
    The righteous shall be kept safe forever,
    but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
  • Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
    He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
  • Let marriage be held in honor by all, and let the marriage bed be kept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath.
  • Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
  • Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven,
    for all his works are truth,
    and his ways are justice;
    and he is able to bring low
    those who walk in pride.
  • Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
    who do his commands;
    seek righteousness, seek humility;
    perhaps you may be hidden
    on the day of the Lord's wrath.
  • For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly act justly one with another, if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own hurt, then I will dwell with you in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your ancestors forever and ever.
  • They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.
  • Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you;
    therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you.
    For the Lord is a God of justice;
    blessed are all those who wait for him.
