- Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. - By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow.
- It is you who light my lamp;
the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. - Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today.
- Return, faithless Israel,
says the Lord.
I will not look on you in anger,
for I am merciful,
says the Lord;
I will not be angry forever. - Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
- Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.
