- I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
- Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
- By humility and the fear of the Lord
are riches, and honour, and life. - For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
- But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
- Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
- For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
- Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings;
and the years of thy life shall be many. - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - The ransom of a man's life are his riches:
but the poor heareth not rebuke. - Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
- Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life. - For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.
- Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
- Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
- Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
- He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction:
but he that refuseth reproof erreth. - Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
- And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
- For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
- Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
- And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
