  • Many shall be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked shall continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
  • And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.
  • For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
  • But now, apart from law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
  • He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
  • Who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
    as something to be exploited,
    but emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
    being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form,
    he humbled himself

  • When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”
  • By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised.
  • Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands.

  • For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
  • Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
