Chinese (traditional)- The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” - Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
- For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
- Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice. - Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments! - Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.
- With the merciful you show yourself merciful;
with the blameless man you show yourself blameless. - And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
For you will render to a man
according to his work. - Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
- Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them. - And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
- With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
- Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
- Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
- Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
- But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us.
