I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child.” | And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. |
| There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. | A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. |
| Don’t envy violent people or copy their ways. Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord, but he offers his friendship to the godly. | Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. |
| Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. | Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. |
