- For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
- I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
- In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Who has done this and carried it through,
calling forth the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord—with the first of them
and with the last—I am he. - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. - Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge. - My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise. - No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
- So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God. - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
- And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
- If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
- Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
- Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
- When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.
- Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him. - But I have been the Lord your God
ever since you came out of Egypt.
You shall acknowledge no God but me,
no Savior except me. - These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
- No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
- Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him. - Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
- And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
