Must (3/4)

  • You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you.
  • Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
  • You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.
  • You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
  • You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.
  • But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
  • I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.
  • So you shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the Lord.
  • Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
  • And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
  • But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
  • And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
  • But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
  • You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.
  • Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.
  • For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.
  • You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
  • You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.
  • Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
  • But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
  • Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
    for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.
  • But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
  • But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
  • But I am the Lord your God
    from the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior.
  • For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
