| The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. | Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales. But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean. | These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. |
| But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
