- There is only one thing I ask of the Lord,
just one thing I seek:
to dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
so that I may enjoy the beauty of the Lord
and gaze on his temple. - Blessed is the person who has found wisdom,
the one who has gained understanding. - Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love.
- And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
- No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. - Amen, amen, I say to you,
a servant is not greater than his master,
nor is a messenger greater
than the one who sent him. - In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
- Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can see the kingdom of God
without being born from above.” - Live in harmony with one another. Do not consider yourself to be better than others, but associate with the lowly, and never be conceited.
- And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
- Seek peace with everyone, as well as the holiness without which no one will ever see the Lord.
- May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ.
- And said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.”
- And where a single man can be overcome,
two together will be able to resist.
A cord with three strands is not easily broken. - Surely God is my helper;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - As long as the goodwill is present, the gift will be acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
- Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. - Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
- When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your wicked ways.
- Therefore, let us cease passing judgment on one another, but rather judge never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
- No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.
- Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.”
- Who indeed conquers the world
except the one who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God? - However, if we live in the light
as he himself is in the light,
then we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus his Son
purifies us from all sin. - Welcome anyone whose faith is weak, but do not get into arguments about doubts.
