When the command is given, at the sound of the archangel’s voice and the call of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise. Then those of us who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord. And so, we will be with the Lord forever. | For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him? | But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? |
