- Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.
- Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
- Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
- But I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
- Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Deliverance belongs to the Lord! - I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. - Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. - For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
- For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast.
- So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
- Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing.
- He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.
- So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
- My soul yearns for you in the night,
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
