Say (4/4)

  • If another disciple sins, you must rebuke the offender, and if there is repentance, you must forgive. And if the same person sins against you seven times a day, and turns back to you seven times and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive.
  • To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone,
and a word in season, how good it is!
  • Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
  • Do not be deceived:
    “Bad company ruins good morals.”
  • Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
  • Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
  • For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly.
  • Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.
  • Now I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose.
  • For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
  • And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
  • Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
  • But he answered, “It is written,
‘One does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”
  • You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder.
  • For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.”
  • Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
  • But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
    nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him”
  • Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
  • Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
  • Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
  • For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
  • The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.
  • “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.
  • The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • For
    “Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
    and their lips from speaking deceit;
    let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.”
