Chinese (traditional)- Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.
- How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you. - Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.
- Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
- I love you, Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
- You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
- Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong. - The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. - Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
- Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
- And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
- So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
- Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers. - Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.
- See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
- Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow. - My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
- Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
- The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him. - I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
- The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”Next verse!With image
