Their (4/4)

Because in much wisdom there is much grief; and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain. For much wisdom can result in much sorrow, and those who increase their knowledge also increase their grief.
“Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, “rather than that he would turn from his ways and live?”Do I derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked? asks the Lord God. Would I not rather rejoice to see them turn away from their wickedness and live?
Who will repay each person according to his deeds. For God will repay everyone in accordance with what his deeds deserve.
Realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, homosexuals, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.Recognizing that laws are not designed for the upright. They are for the lawless and insubordinate, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and irreligious; they are for those who slay their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for those who are fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which has been entrusted to me.
Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.Therefore, a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God, since those who enter into God’s rest also cease from their own labors as God did from his.
It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment. The future bodes well for him who is generous in helping those in need and who conducts his affairs with justice.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it.
Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.Pay to each person what is rightfully his—taxes to the one to whom taxes are due, tolls to the one to whom tolls are due, respect to the one to whom respect is due, honor to the one to whom honor is due.
And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
One who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But one who is careless of conduct will die.Whoever observes the commandments will live, but the one who scorns them will die.
For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; if he closes his lips, he is regarded as intelligent.
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way, Because of the person who carries out wicked schemes.Wait quietly for the Lord and be patient until he comes. Do not fret over the man who prospers because of his evil schemes.
A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.A fool gives free rein to his anger, but a wise man bides his time and calms it.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent person conceals dishonor.A fool is quick to show his anger, but a prudent man ignores an insult.
So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand people were added to their number.
Many will be purged, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. Many shall be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will persist in their evil ways.
And because the midwives feared God, He established households for them.God gave the midwives numerous families because they had feared God.
For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; moreover, that every person who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—this is the gift of God.I understand that man’s greatest happiness is to be glad and do well throughout his life. And when we eat and drink and find satisfaction in all our labors, this is a gift of God.
Furthermore, as for every person to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also given him the opportunity to enjoy them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.Moreover, the one to whom God grants wealth and possessions and the ability to enjoy them and to find contentment in his toil receives a gift from God.
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.O Lord, you grant peace to those who are steadfast because of their trust in you.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will have their fill.
A fool does not delight in understanding, But in revealing his own mind.A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only delights in expressing his own opinions.
