| Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. | Then keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. |
| And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” | He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” |
