Then (2/4)

  • He said, “Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
  • Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
  • Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
  • Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.
  • When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
  • If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
  • Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
  • Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
  • What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
  • Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.”
  • Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from one person's envy of another. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
  • Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.”
  • Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
  • Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
  • Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”
  • Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
  • So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
  • So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
  • Then Job arose, tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell on the ground and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
  • Pray then in this way:
    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
  • Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Having said this, he breathed his last.
  • For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.
  • Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
  • So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
  • Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions of them to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

My child, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad.

Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
and speak the truth from their heart;
who do not slander with their tongue,
and do no evil to their friends,
nor take up a reproach against their neighbors.
