- We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- The Lord abhors lying lips,
but he delights in those who are truthful. - As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. - Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
praise and exalt and glorify
the King of heaven.
For all of his works are right,
and all of his ways are just.
Also, he is able to humble
all those who follow the path of pride. - He gives a home to those who are forsaken
and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation,
while rebels are forced to live in an arid land. - Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much.
- The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
- Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in accord with the law of the Lord. - Those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand people were added to their number.
- Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- The face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil,
to erase all memory of them from the earth. - An ignorant man causes strife by his insolence,
but wisdom is found with those who take advice. - The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. - Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to all those on whom his favor rests. - Speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves,
and defend the rights of the destitute. - Then Jesus said to those Jews who did believe in him,
“If you remain faithful to my word,
you will truly be my disciples.
You will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free.” - Then Jesus said to him,
“You have come to believe
because you have seen me.
Blessed are those who have not seen
and yet have come to believe.” - My life is in your hands;
deliver me from the power of my enemies,
from the clutches of those who pursue me. - Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.
- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer.
However, the face of the Lord
is set against those who do evil. - I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent.
