Bible Verses about 'War'

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.Although we are human beings, we do not engage in battle according to human standards.
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.Even if an army encamps against me, my heart will not succumb to fear; even if war breaks out against me, I will not have my trust shaken.
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken. If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you previously, that no one who does such things will inherit the kingdom of God.
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior and a savior. He will rejoice over you with gladness and renew you through his love. He will exult over you with shouts of joy.
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you.May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.Be on guard against false prophets who come to you disguised in sheep’s clothing, but who inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?Consider the ravens. They do not sow or reap, they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. You are of far greater importance than birds.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.A fool gives free rein to his anger, but a wise man bides his time and calms it.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. If you refuse to listen to me and do not sincerely resolve to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send a curse on you, and I will turn your blessings into a curse. Indeed, I have already done so because you have not heeded my warning.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. The lips of the righteous utter words of kindness, but the mouth of the wicked knows only how to pervert.
A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.A perverse man sows strife, and a tale-bearer destroys close friendships.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.Turn away from the mouth that deceives and keep your distance from lips that mislead.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to all those on whom his favor rests.
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. Two are better than one: they earn a far greater reward for their toil.
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.I press on toward the finishing line to win the heavenly prize to which God has called me in Christ Jesus.
Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.Let mutual love continue, and do not forget to offer hospitality to strangers, for by doing this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. The fear of the Lord implies hatred of evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil ways and perverse speech.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted.
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. The labors of the wicked man produce little profit, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.Behold, I am coming soon, and I will bring with me my reward to repay everyone as his deeds deserve.
