We (3/4)

  • Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help.
  • O Lord, grant us salvation.
    O Lord, grant us success.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord.
  • For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
  • But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Therefore, we can say with confidence:
    “The Lord is my helper;
    I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?”
  • Some trust in chariots, and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord, our God.
  • Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
  • Teach us to comprehend how few our days are
so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom.
  • And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
  • No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another,
    God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us.
  • And not only that, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we realize that suffering develops perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.
  • This is the commandment
    we have received from him:
    whoever loves God
    must also love his brother.
  • This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
    but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
  • If we are diligent in observing all of these commandments before the Lord, our God, as he commanded of us, then this will be our righteousness.
  • However, if we confess our sins,
he who is faithful and just
    will forgive our sins
and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
  • As sorrowful, and yet we are always rejoicing; as poor, and yet we make many rich; as having nothing, and yet we possess everything.
  • By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.
  • He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
  • There is no salvation in anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved.
  • See what love
the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him.
  • Can anyone withhold the water of baptism from these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
  • Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.
  • For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so too, through Christ, do we receive our consolation.
  • In Christ
    and through his blood
    we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace.
  • We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.

God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him.
