- He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. - For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
- And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

- In God is my salvation and my glory:
the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
saith the Lord. - While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
- Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open unto their cry. - In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
- All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
- Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto thee. - Honour widows that are widows indeed.
- Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints.
- Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
- Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever:
for they are the rejoicing of my heart. - This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
- Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. - Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore.
