| Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city. | He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. |
| My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. | I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. |

| Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. | A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. |

| So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.” | Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. |
| In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! | I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. |
| God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. | Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. |
| And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. | And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. |
| He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. | He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. |
| We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him. | And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. |
| He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. | To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. |
| Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. | Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. |
| How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. | Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! |
| When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” | But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. |
| Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. | Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. |
| But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! | But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. |
| Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. |
| Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. | For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. |
| And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. | And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. |
| Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. | Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. |
| But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! | But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. |
| Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” | Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. |
| Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! | O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. |
