- Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding. - Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
- Behold, God is mine helper:
the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
- Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
- And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
- And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever.
