Chinese (traditional)- I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
- Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
- One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple. - I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
- Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
- For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
- Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord.
Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord. - But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me. - You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
- When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. - In the way of your testimonies I delight
as much as in all riches. - Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
- Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life. - For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
- I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
- I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
- For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
- Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”Next verse!With image
