- But I will sing of your might;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been a fortress for me
and a refuge in the day of my distress. - So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. - Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
- And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
- No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.
- Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
- Yet I have been the Lord your God
ever since the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases. - No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one.
- For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field, God's building.
- So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
- For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. - These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
- And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
- Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
- But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him. - For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. - God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
- Rise up, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
do not forget the oppressed. - I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.
O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.For what human being knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? So also no one comprehends what is truly God's except the Spirit of God.
