- Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
and make you wise. - I take joy in doing your will, my God,
for your instructions are written on my heart. - But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
yes, I prayed to my God for help.
He heard me from his sanctuary;
my cry to him reached his ears. - Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
- Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again—
my Savior and my God! - I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him. - When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him. - When I refused to confess my sin,
my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long. - Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. - You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble? - Your laws are my treasure;
they are my heart’s delight. - You know what I long for, Lord;
you hear my every sigh. - But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. - You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. - If you love me, obey my commandments.
- When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
- But God is my helper.
The Lord keeps me alive! - “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” - I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth! - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. - I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!” - O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. - So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”
When doubts filled my mind,
your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline;
whoever learns from correction is wise.
