- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- As for God, his way is perfect:
the word of the Lord is tried:
he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. - Let all your things be done with charity.
- He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
- Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
- A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
- Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
- And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
- And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
- For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
- The Lord is good,
a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him. - Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- I love the Lord, because he hath heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,
therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. - Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
- Great peace have they which love thy law:
and nothing shall offend them. - And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
- Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
- And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
- Oh how great is thy goodness,
which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee;
which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee
before the sons of men! - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
- As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
- The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants:
and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. - Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
