Chinese (traditional)- How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - In God, whose word I praise,
in God I place my trust and know no fear;
what can people do to me? - Beloved,
do not trust every spirit,
but test the spirits
to see whether they are from God.
For many false prophets
have gone out into the world. - And if we know that he hears us
in regard to whatever we ask him,
we may be sure
that all we ask of him will be ours. - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to place your trust in mortals. - The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart places its trust in him.
He has helped me, and I exult;
then with my song I praise him. - Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You place your trust in God.
Trust also in me. - O Lord, you grant peace to those who are steadfast
because of their trust in you. - Those who revere your name place their trust in you,
for you never abandon those who seek you, O Lord. - Beloved,
if our hearts do not condemn us,
we can approach God with confidence
and receive from him whatever we ask,
because we obey his commandments
and do whatever is pleasing to him. - But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience.
- Protect me, O God,
for in you I take refuge. - I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- As for me, I trust in your kindness;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord
because he has been good to me. - Even if an army encamps against me,
my heart will not succumb to fear;
even if war breaks out against me,
I will not have my trust shaken. - He answered, “Because you have such little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith as tiny as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain: ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
- O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us,
for we have placed our hope in you. - Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices in the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things. - The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct. - Although the mountains may be shaken
and the hills may totter,
my steadfast love will not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace will never be shaken,
says the Lord who has compassion on you. - Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be accomplished for him.
- He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress, so that I stand unshaken. - I am confident that I will behold the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - And now, dear children,
abide in him,
so that when he appears
we may have confidence
and not be put to shame by him
at his coming. - Do not envy a violent man
or choose to emulate any of his ways.
For the perverse man is an abomination to the Lord
whose friendship is bestowed only upon the upright.
For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had.Then I came to realize that all toil and skill in work derive from one person’s envy of another. This also is vanity and a chase after the wind. Call to me and I will answer you and reveal to you great and mysterious secrets about which you are unaware.Next verse!With image
