Chinese (traditional)By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls. As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity! And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. One's pride will bring him low,
but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever. If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. He will render to each one according to his works. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.Next verse!With image
