Chinese (traditional)Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us. Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. Love prospers when a fault is forgiven,
but dwelling on it separates close friends. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit. Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. People with integrity walk safely,
but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. Guide my steps by your word,
so I will not be overcome by evil. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. The wise are glad to be instructed,
but babbling fools fall flat on their faces. The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. Let your favor shine on your servant.
In your unfailing love, rescue me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.
