Chinese (traditional)Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. But he is to ask with faith, without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind. With his mouth the godless man seeks to ruin his neighbor,
but knowledge enables the righteous to be delivered. The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.” It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to place your trust in mortals. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or how tall he stands, for the Lord has rejected him. He does not see the way that men see, for men look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Therefore, we love because he first loved us. When you fix your gaze upon it,
it is gone before you realize it.
For it suddenly sprouts wings
and flies up to the sky like an eagle. In view of all this, you should make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with piety, and piety with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. You shall serve the Lord, your God. He will bless your bread and water and take away sickness from your midst. Those who love your law have great peace;
they encounter no stumbling blocks. He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.” O Lord, you are my God.
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for you have accomplished wonderful things,
formulated in ages past, faithful and sure. Some friends can lead us to ruin,
but a true friend is closer than a brother. Do not love the world
or what is in the world.
If anyone does love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him. If anyone wishes to serve me,
he must follow me.
Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person. I will offer praise to you, O Lord,
with my whole heart;
I will recount all your wondrous deeds. No one should seek his own advantage in preference to that of his neighbor. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. The fear of the Lord implies hatred of evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil ways and perverse speech. Our temporary light afflictions are preparing for us an incomparable weight of eternal glory. Therefore, we can say with confidence:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” The misfortunes of the righteous man are many,
but the Lord delivers him, from all of them. Love is patient;
love is charitable.
Love is not envious;
it does not have an inflated opinion of itself;
it is not filled with its own importance.
Love is never rude;
it does not seek its own advantage.
It is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over setbacks. You shall obey his statutes and the commandments that I give you today, so that all may go well with you and your children after you, and that you may live long in the land that the Lord, your God, has given you for all time. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in kindness. Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and utter all kinds of calumnies against you for my sake. A gentle reply turns away wrath,
but a harsh word arouses anger. Test everything, and hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil. As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Can a woman forget the infant at her breast;
or feel no compassion for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you.
Behold, I have inscribed your name
on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before my eyes.Next verse!With image
