Chinese (traditional)And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. But when I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you. Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed. But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul. Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. You know what I long for, Lord;
you hear my every sigh. Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in people. I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil;
joy fills hearts that are planning peace! But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life. Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. Teach me your ways, O Lord,
that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honor you. Then Jesus led them to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” Guide my steps by your word,
so I will not be overcome by evil. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. We love each other because he loved us first. Our God is in the heavens,
and he does as he wishes. For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. O Lord, I will honor and praise your name,
for you are my God.
You do such wonderful things!
You planned them long ago,
and now you have accomplished them. When I refused to confess my sin,
my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long. Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”Next verse!With image
