Chinese (traditional)But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice,
an endless river of righteous living. Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Sing praises to God and to his name!
Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds.
His name is the Lord—
rejoice in his presence!
Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint. But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. Those who control their tongue will have a long life;
opening your mouth can ruin everything. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever. Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you. Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. People with understanding control their anger;
a hot temper shows great foolishness. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have chosen to be faithful;
I have determined to live by your regulations. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known. God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted. Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.Next verse!With image
