Chinese (traditional)Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live. In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. “For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. Learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” For the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy.
