Chinese (traditional)Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all he does. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live. When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. “Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.Next verse!With image
