Chinese (traditional)Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands. I, yes I, am the one who comforts you.
So why are you afraid of mere humans,
who wither like the grass and disappear? May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself. Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you. Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! It is better to be godly and have little
than to be evil and rich.
For the strength of the wicked will be shattered,
but the Lord takes care of the godly. Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,
“I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.” Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline. For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. For the Lord loves justice,
and he will never abandon the godly.
He will keep them safe forever,
but the children of the wicked will die. Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice. Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me,
and through each night I sing his songs,
praying to God who gives me life. I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a bright future,
and your hopes will not be cut short. For we live by believing and not by seeing. I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. The Lord protects the foreigners among us.
He cares for the orphans and widows,
but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.Next verse! With image
