Chinese (traditional)Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations. I, I am he who comforts you;
why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die,
a human being who fades like grass? The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. You shall not murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; Honor your father and mother; also, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him. Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that counts is faith working through love. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.
The righteous shall be kept safe forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. If only they had such a mind as this, to fear me and to keep all my commandments always, so that it might go well with them and with their children forever! From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so. Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” I can do all things through him who strengthens me. By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ himself. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, you will find a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing. He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else? Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.Next verse!With image
